    Responsibilities

    How will you make an impact?

    Responsibilities

    • Joint responsibility with the pilot in command for the safety and operational control of flights
    • Authorizes, regulates, and controls flights according to government and company regulations to expedite and ensure safety of flight
    • Assures that appropriate personnel are informed of significant changes in the flight status, such as specific aircraft to be used on flights, aircraft changes, aircraft substitutions, delays, unscheduled landings, diversions or cancellations
    • Preplans daily flight operations with primary emphasis on safety, efficiency, and economy consistent with passenger comfort and on-time performance
    • Assures that appropriate personnel are informed of significant changes in the flight status such as specific aircraft to be used on flights, aircraft changes, aircraft substitutions, delays, unscheduled landings, diversions or cancellations
    • Initiates operational flight information and time limit decision messages
    • Assures availability of crew and aircraft for each scheduled departure
    • Keeps informed of progress of all inbound flights entering control area, location of aircraft, and crews out of position during irregular operation
    • Coordinates for optimum utilization of aircraft and crews during irregular operations(s)
    • Issues instructions in the dispatch area, which require implementation by appropriate personnel in the performance of those phases of duties pertinent to flight operations
    • Effective organization and planning skills are necessary in this position
    • Must be able to work independently as well as under direct supervision
    • Must speak clearly over the telephone and radio transmission and be understood by crew members and others
    Qualifications

    Who are we looking for?

    Requirements

    • Minimum age: 23
    • High school diploma, GED, or International equivalent
    • Possess a valid FAA Dispatch license
    • Possess a valid, unexpired and unsuspended state driver's license; some license restrictions may prohibit a candidate from being considered for this role.
    • Understand basic concepts of weather, navigation, and aeronautics
    • Must be able to work rotating shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays and rotating days off
    • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
    • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
    • Ability to understand and read a 24-hour clock, preferred
    • Working knowledge of FAA 121 Regulations, preferred
