Opportunity
As a Communications Specialist (REMSA Health Dispatcher) you answer emergency medical and fire calls for service and dispatch ambulances and fire resources to locations requesting help. As a call taker you process emergency medical and fire related calls using established protocols. You give callers instructions to begin patient care and how to safeguard themselves until help arrives on scene. The dispatcher position is responsible for sending the closest appropriate response resource to the scene. The dispatcher also communicates safety concerns involving patients and responders to determine whether or not additional precautions or equipment should be taken.
We offer a full academy training to develop the skills and competence to successfully process calls and dispatch resources. Prior medical or fire experience is preferred. All Communications Specialists must have completed or will need to complete an EMT course within 6 months of hire. REMSA Health has an onsite education facility where the EMT course would be completed. This is a full-time position that is eligible for benefits. We also offer relocation assistance!

- Ability to type a minimum of 35 wpm
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to multi-task, attentive to detail in various forms
- Ability to work varied shift (days, nights, weekends, holidays)
- Upon hire, complete and pass E.M.D. Training & EMT Course (if no prior EMT course completion)
