    Overview: The Program Manager position is with the CSUN Center on Disabilities. A department in the CSUN Division of Student Affairs, the Center on Disabilities (COD) is committed to the vision of an inclusive society where people of all abilities have the chance to achieve their goals and experience success. Through excellent training and research, we nurture learning and innovation to improve the world for people with disabilities.

    COD sponsors assistive technology training programs to expand the awareness of professionals and introduce newcomers to the disability field, and hosts the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference.

    Under the supervision of the Center on Disabilities’ Managing Director, the Program Manager provides leadership in the content focus and direction for the CSUN Center on Disabilities, including the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference, the Assistive Technology Applications Certificate Program, and any future programs offered by the Center on Disabilities. The Program Manager will be required to build coalitions and develop networks in entrepreneurial and academic environments to increase engagement within the field to keep the CSUN AT Conference as an industry leader.

    The Program Manager will discover new talent and attract seasoned industry leaders as presenters and content contributors for the CSUN AT Conference and any new projects or programs. The Program Manager will be responsible to determine content trends and recruit presenters for workshops, featured presentations and fireside chats, and oversee the submission and selection process for the approximate 400 educational sessions for the annual CSUN AT Conference. Additionally, the Program Manager will identify new trainings, and work with content experts to develop curriculum and oversee the roll-out.

    Duties and Responsibilities (other duties as assigned):

    Responsible for the overall programming and content direction for the Center on Disabilities and the CSUN AT Conference and other related activities. Responsible for the maintenance of the ATACP, including managing all recruitment/marketing, managing 2 faculty instructors, enrollment, curriculum reviews and updates, and online course management. Develop new training programs or stand-alone workshops.

    Provides leadership in determining the content focus for the annual CSUN AT Conference. Oversee the Call for Submissions, including developing a strategy to target certain markets/industries, recruiting and managing various reviewer committees, serving as final reviewer of the over 700 submissions, and making final recommendations on the selection of approximately 400 submissions for presentation at the CSUN AT Conference. Oversee the Call for Proposals for Pre-Conference Workshops, recruits, reviews and determines the acceptance of the array of 4-hour or 8-hour workshops. Serves as the Center on Disabilities representative for all conference Presenters, logistics and delivery for Pre-Conference Workshops, Featured Presentations and participant networking events; coordinating registrations, presenter needs, travel and all logistics associated with these major educational events related to the CSUN AT Conference.

    Provides leadership in identifying areas of focus and attracting industry leaders and topics to target in the Accessibility, Assistive Technology and general disability field to determine content direction and identify key leaders/stakeholders that are aligned with the Division of Student Affairs and CSUN values of equity, justice and inclusion. Engages with professional and industry leaders and organizations. Engage with academic departments, community agencies and external stakeholders to build an instructor and presenter pool.

    Oversees the Journal Track for the annual CSUN AT Conference, which includes the Call for Papers, review and selection of manuscripts for publication. Manages the submission process, from initial proposal submission to complete manuscript submission. Manages the authors/presenters on accepted manuscripts, and manages the scientific, copy and accessibility editors.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a job-related field. Additional experience in a job-related field may be substituted for up to two years of the required education, on a year-to-year basis.

    Knowledge, Specialized Skills, and Abilities: Experience with curriculum development, program design, and working in the disability field a plus.

    Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

    This position is employed through The University Corporation (TUC).

    The anticipated hiring range: $70,304 - $75,000 Yearly

    Time Base: Full - Time
