The successful candidate will serve as a strategic legal partner, advising on a wide range of commercial, IP, corporate, regulatory, and government contracting matters. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's ambitious plans to develop and deliver groundbreaking technologies in the energy and advanced manufacturing sectors. Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day legal issues, providing legal support for government contracting activities, and advising on complex legal matters related to the company's operations. The Deputy General Counsel will also be involved in shaping the legal function, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring compliance with national security and regulatory requirements.Applicants must have a JD from an ABA-accredited institution, be eligible to practice law in California, and have 8-15 years' of substantive legal experience in areas such as commercial and procurement transactions, corporate governance, intellectual property, and government contracts. Experience in highly regulated sectors, particularly those related to energy, nuclear, or national security, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and transactional law, experience with legal operations initiatives, and exceptional executive communication skills.
