Dispatcher Job
Dispatcher will oversee a fleet of truck drivers, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and federal regulations. This role demands excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Assign and schedule drivers to routes based on delivery requirements and driver availability.
- Communicate with drivers to provide instructions and updates throughout the day.
- Monitor and track the progress of deliveries, addressing any issues or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of driver logs, delivery times, and route details.
- Collaborate with customer service to address and resolve delivery-related inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and DOT regulations.
- Analyze and optimize route efficiency to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Analyze and improve fleet performance metrics to enhance operational efficiency.
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings and training.
- Address and resolve HOS or safety-related issues promptly.
- Provide support in case of emergencies or unforeseen situations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; associate degree in logistics or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dispatching or a related field.
- Strong communication and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
