Part‑Time Instructor Pool – Political ScienceLocation: Santa Barbara, CA. Salary: $82.33 – $115.20 per hour (Lecture: $102.90; Lab: $82.33; Doctorate: Lecture $107.87; Lab $86.30). Job Type: PT Credit Faculty. Job No.: 10‑22‑PP64. Closing: Continuous.Essential FunctionsProvide quality instruction, create and maintain an environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.Education and ExperienceMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master's in political science, government, or international relations.Or bachelor's in any of the above and Master's in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, any ethnic studies, Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.).Or the equivalent combination of education and other accomplishments that is equivalent to the above.Possession of a lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential in Government (Theory and Practice, Local and International) and evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.The combination of education and other accomplishments that are equivalent to the minimum qualifications must be supported with appropriate documentation.
