Pay Range: $25.00 - $27.00

Summary: Provides security services for residents and employees of the organization. Protects from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

Detailed responsibilities:

  • Security I - Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction
  • Patrols, periodically, outside grounds of campus and lobbies, corridors and public rooms, access points of the facility to ensure safety and security of residents and staff
  • Responds to fire alarms, emergency call switch activation and other emergencies
  • Graciously warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and devises, reports or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
  • Investigaates and completes resident loss reports and incident reports, gives copies to supervisor and maintains a file on them
  • Keeps accurate log of shift activities
  • Occasionally performs emergency janitorial duties and sets thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperature in buildings or cold storage rooms
  • Familiar with all disaster, fire and other emergency procedures as outlined in facility disaster plan
  • Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Wears PPE/safety equipment as required for the job
  • Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor
  • Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs

Competencies and skills: Essential: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Credentials: Nonessential: Security Guard Card

Education with Equivalent Qualifications: Essential: High School diploma or GED

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:

Essential: 6 Months security experience
