Security Officer

Pay Rate: $19/hour starting

Benefits: 401(k) & Health Insurance Schedule: Wednesday–Sunday | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years or older
• Valid Guard Card required
• Valid Driver's License required
• Minimum 3 years security experience required
• Prior dispensary or retail security experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities:

• Patrol and monitor premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, ensuring security of doors, windows, gates, and dispensary access points
• Monitor and control entry/exit of employees, customers, vendors, and visitors in compliance with regulations
• Maintain compliance with dispensary security protocols, including age verification and restricted area access
• Write detailed incident and daily activity reports regarding theft, disturbances, property damage, or irregular occurrences
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances promptly
• Coordinate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
• Circulate throughout the dispensary to maintain order and ensure a safe environment for staff and customers
• Operate surveillance systems (CCTV) and security equipment to monitor premises effectively
• Screen individuals and prevent unauthorized access or prohibited items from entering restricted areas
• Escort personnel when required and provide a visible security presence to deter incidents
• Enforce rules and regulations, addressing violations professionally and safely

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Proven experience as a security officer or in a related role
• Previous dispensary or retail security experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of security procedures and public safety guidelines
• Experience with incident reporting and documentation
• Skilled in operating CCTV and security systems
• Excellent observation and situational awareness skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Physically able to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods
