Legislative Affairs SpecialistThe OpportunityProvide legislative affairs support to an Intelligence Community client. Leverage expertise with legislative and regulatory documents and a knowledge of the legislative and regulatory process. Monitor the status of defense legislation, pertinent hearings, markups, and floor actions. Support the preparation of client staff, including logistics, for congressional hearings, briefings, and engagements. Provide a weekly summary of workforce engagements with Congress, upcoming hearings, and active legislation to senior leadership. Research and write background papers, talking points, and written and verbal statements for leadership and employees when preparing to brief Congress or working engagements. Support the briefing team in updating and giving training to employees on ways to improve verbal and written congressional interaction skills.You Have7+ years of experience in the legislative affairs field or congressional affairsExperience with legislative and regulatory documents and processExperience with researching and writing background papers, talking points, and verbal and written statements, including providing legislative briefings to leadershipExperience with synthesizing complex information into clear understandable written formatsActive TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph examBachelor's degreeNice If You HavePossession of strong critical thinking skillsTS/SCI clearance with a polygraphClearanceApplicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.CompensationProjected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD).
