The RoleThe Lateral Correction Officer works under general supervision, performing security duties that oversee and direct the activities of inmates within the Community Correctional Center and during transport to other facilities, as well as related responsibilities as required.Work ScheduleThis position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36–hour week) Sunday – Wednesday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm. It may also require various shift work, emergency call‑outs, and overtime.EligibilityMinimum age of 21 at time of application. Tattoos on the hands, face, neck, and head—including behind the ear—are prohibited by the Police Department appearance policy. The only exception is a simple wedding band on the ring finger. Applicants with prohibited tattoos are not eligible for this position.Licenses and CertificationsDriver's license – Must possess a valid and current state driver's license at time of application and a valid NV driver's license at time of hire, maintaining a satisfactory motor‑vehicle record throughout employment.Minimum of two (2) years of continuous, uninterrupted service with a law‑enforcement agency in duties directly related to Category 3 Nevada POST standards at time of application.Must possess a valid Category 3 Nevada Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate or an equivalent Peace Officer Certificate. A current copy of the Nevada POST Category 3 certificate or equivalent must be attached to the online application.CompensationGrade: COA‑45Minimum Salary: $31.48 per hourMaximum Salary: $54.94 per hourPay Basis: Hourly#J-18808-Ljbffr
