Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform entrance control: enforce the district's entry and identification system, operate screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items, and check items such as handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, and wheelchairs.Perform roving patrol: patrol court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders.Perform stationary post assignments: stand guard at stationary posts including monitoring CCTV, duress alarm systems, courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms.Perform escort duties: provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals when directed.Perform garage parking and pedestrian control: direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties as described in the post orders or standard operating procedures.Enforce law and order: enforce federal law while performing assigned duties, detain unauthorized persons, and protect the safety and security of government employees, property, and the public.Prepare reports and records: prepare reports on contract performance issues such as labor hours, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts within the court facility area.Court attendance and preservation: secure unattended courtrooms, inspect before proceedings, test security devices, and enforce federal law and local court rules in the courtroom.RequirementsEducation: High school diploma or GED.Experience: At least three (3) calendar years as a certified law‑enforcement officer or military equivalent within the last seven (7) years, with general arrest authority.Language skills: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and interpret rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.Certificates and licenses: Valid driver's license and safe driving record for five years; DOJ clearance; completion or graduation from a certified federal, state, county, local, or military law‑enforcement training academy with certification.Other qualifications: Minimum age 21, able to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and criminal background check.Physical demands: Meet USMS medical standards and be able to perform essential functions of the job, with reasonable accommodations available if needed.Equal Opportunity Employer.
