Job OverviewThe San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office is seeking highly motivated individuals to serve as Correctional Officer Trainees within the Custody Division. The trainee will learn to follow clearly established procedures for receiving prisoners, maintaining discipline, preventing escapes, and supervising inmates. The role requires staying alert at all times and reacting quickly and calmly in emergency situations.Qualifications• Completion of a pre‑employment physical examination, drug screen, and background investigation is required. The County pays for the initial drug screen and physical.• A T‑Score of 45 or higher on a BSCC Selection Examination is qualifying for entry‑level Adult or Juvenile Corrections Officer positions from other agencies.• Candidates must pass a physical agility test and a written exam to advance in the recruitment process.
