Oral Interview Examination – evaluates experience, training and personal qualifications. Candidates need a score of 70% or higher.4. Background Review – prepare personal statement and meet with background investigator.5. Background Investigation and Management Oral Interview – assess employment, neighborhood conduct, references, financial stability, driving history, educational history, and other related factors. Candidates need a score of 70% or higher.6. Polygraph Examination – assesses the truthfulness of the candidate's responses about qualifications and suitability.7. Bilingual Oral Fluency Examination (if applicable) – applicants seeking bilingual pay must be fluent in both English and one of Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, or other languages designated by the Orange County Registrar of Voters.
