This strategic growth position calls for an experienced candidate who can work directly with clients and perform their own technical work (“Seller Doer”). The successful applicant will have a well-rounded background in building code and fire code consulting and possess strong analytical and creative thinking skills. The position will coordinate and conduct building plan reviews, interpret the building/fire codes, develop alternative solutions, prepare building design reports, and coordinate with fire protection engineering design teams.ResponsibilitiesManage and implement a wide variety of consulting projectsSatisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budgetCoordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visitsPrepare and peer review of project‑related technical reportsDevelop fire protection strategies, performance‑based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issuesEffectively communicate with project team members, clients, and othersMinimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related fieldFour (4) years of professional Fire Protection Consulting experiencePreferred QualificationsEight (8) years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection ConsultingRegistered Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in Fire Protection Engineering or other professional designation in Fire Protection, is highly desirable (such as NICET Level IV in any of the Fire Protection certifications)The ideal candidate will be a \"Doer Seller\", with client connections and ability to develop new business.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspectionsExperience with project management or specific responsibilities for any portion of large complex projects is preferredAbility to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategiesAbility to work independently and as part of a team, enjoy professional challenges, and endeavor to be an integral part of the long‑term growth of Jensen HughesNational Pay Range$111,000-$197,000USDJensen Hughes offers a competitive total rewards package, which includes a retirement plan, healthcare coverage, and a broad range of other benefits.
