    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Consolidated Call Center at the Development Services Department seeks two part-time Customer Service Representatives.

    Customer Service Representatives at the Consolidated Call Center perform a wide variety of basic customer services and clerical tasks; responding to customer complaints and inquiries.

    These positions are scheduled to work 32 hours per week.
    1. The position supporting Building Services is scheduled Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8-hour days, off on Tuesday and Weekends.
    2. The position supporting Parking is scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8-hour days, off on Wednesday and weekends.
    3. These temporary assignments have no specific end dates.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.     • Provides customer service by answering telephones and responding to inquiries, assisting customers with documents and equipment
    • May opens and closes accounts, collects payments assist customers with account inquires and issues
    • May resolve customer billing inquiries, complaints, and issues via phone, email, fax machine, and in-personal contact
    • Collects payments; explains billing and payment practices
    • Performs a variety of clerical duties by filing, entering information into databases, generating and submitting reports, and processing journal entries
    • Verifies accuracy and completeness of all data/information received, and researches and provides verification on information requests
    • Operates a computer in transferring/transcribing/composing various documentation
    • Performs daily accounting tasks related to work performed, which may include calculating, billing, and receiving various fees and payments; balancing daily revenues
    • May process and issue various types of permits, certificates, and licenses as required
    • Receives, processes and distributes division mail, and prepares forms, letters, and parcels for mailing
    • Prepares and distributes various division records, reports, notices and other relevant materials
    • Receives and reviews invoices, reports, forms and applications and distributes copies to appropriate personnel
    • Performs related work as required


    JOB REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    sHigh School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalencyOne (1) to three (3) years of general clerical work or customer service experience.Must have excellent phone and verbal communication skills and strong data entry skills.Additional qualifying experience or completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience or education. Preferences:
    1. Prior Call Center Experience
    2. Bilingual (English/Spanish)
    3. Excellent Communication Skills (both verbal and written)
    4. Proficient Computer and Typing Skills

    As public servants, employees may be required to work immediately before, during, and/or after an emergency. All employees must be available and able to work assigned shifts as determined by their Department Heads.

    PHYSICAL STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    Depends upon work assignment and location

    The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderately loud. The work may entail sedentary work in an office setting. While performing duties, employee may frequently be required to stand, walk, stoop, talk, hear, reach above and below shoulders, and use hand and fingers dexterity keyboarding. The employee may be required on rare occasions to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Sometimes work is stressful when working under stringent time constraints. Vocal

    communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word, and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception.
