    Introduction

    About the Position
    Responsible for the design, build, test, deployment and maintenance (complete life cycle) of cloud services efficiently over private, public and hybrid environments, working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment involving but not limited to security, networking and application development. Collaborates on identifying efficient and effective strategies involving investing in cloud migration/s on a case-by-case basis, including but not limited to disaster recovery and backups. Multiple years of demonstrated expertise with hands-on knowledge in configuring services in both AWS and Azure cloud environments is a must, along with designing cloud architecture based on standards, and organizational strategy. Experience with docker and or Kubernetes containerization and microservices is necessary. Acts as the primary technical expert for cloud-based infrastructure, services, and integrations.

    Anticipated starting salary may be up to mid-point depending on candidate's experience and internal equity. The midpoint for this position is $124,072.00

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution.
    • Seven years' experience in enterprise systems or security engineering.
    • An equivalent combination of education and / job-related experience that meets the minimum qualifications may substituted.
    • Preferred:
      • Degree in Computer Science
      • Two years' experience in configuring in AWS and Azure cloud/s
      • Two year's experience in deploying workloads in the cloud using microservices-Docker/Kubernetes
      • Relevant cloud architecture, configuration, and security-related technical certifications.
      • Relevant technical certifications
    Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements
    • Obtain and maintain Level D Terminal Operator Certification (TOC-D) within 1 month of hire.
    • Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.


    Essential Functions

    Performs duties and responsibilities commensurate with assigned functional area within a department(s) which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following:
    • Develops and maintains the cloud standards, solutions, and architecture in conjunction with the IT Leadership team's cloud strategy.
    • Collaborates with application development, engineering, security, and networking teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
    • Designs, builds, deploys, maintains, and lead the implementation of cloud infrastructure solutions across multiple cloud offerings and departments.
    • Creates, manages, monitors and decommissions cloud infrastructure, systems, resources, networks, and other cloud services to support City of Scottsdale infrastructure.
    • Troubleshoots incidents, identifies root cause, and implements preventative measures.
    • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues.
    • Manages requests for new technology, establishing a secure cloud environment, and ensuring appropriate availability and reliability of cloud services.
    • Provides on-going support for specific cloud-based enterprise infrastructure systems and applications.
    • Provides training, documentation and knowledge transfer to other members of the team.
