Essential Duties Summary Required Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Any combination equivalent to: sufficient course work to qualify for a Child Development Associate Permit including at least twelve core units in Early Childhood Education or equivalent courses and one year of experience in a child development program. (Permit must be applied for within 30 days of the hire date)
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
- Child Development Associate Permit or equivalent
- Appropriate First Aid and AED certificates
- California Child Care Provider Health and Safety Certificate (to be obtained within 30 working days from date of hire)
- Driver’s license and/or ability to provide own transportation to and from assigned sites
Pre-employment Requirements
1. Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis.
2. As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice ( DOJ ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employee’s responsibility.
Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employee’s first day on the job.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Range/Step Range 19 (CSEA Salary Schedule) Salary Range $22.84 - $27.81/hr. (Step 4 -11) Benefits Information PART - TIME (less than .60 FTE ): Part-time positions less than .60 PTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits. The District does however; provide the employee leaves including vacation, sick leave and paid holidays. Employees less than .50 PTE contribute to an Alternative Retirement System (Apple). Employees whose, PTE is between .50 and .60 contribute to the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS).
